Our
association was founded in memory of a
late Franciscan Friar
Minor
Conventual (OFMConv) a missionary priest
from Slovenia,
named
Miha Drevensek. He spent all his life in Zambia doing his
missionary
work to the fullest, dedicating his time and love to the poor, the orphans,
widows and all the needy people who crossed his way. He fought for equality and taught it by his way of life. He revolutioned our way of
thinking , teaching us to care for
those in needy of help in any way. Fr Miha sponsored a great number of
school boys and girls’ school fees.
Fr.Miha also collaborated with United Nations for Refugees in the Rwanda
disaster programme. One of his main
goals in life was that of seeing every
child receive education, he used to say every child has a right to
education. This is why we formed up this
association in order to continue where he left .
PROJECT
Our
project is based on the impact Fr Miha
Drevensek has left
us or
rather he taught us through his work and behavior and his words while he was
with us, that of giving, finding joy in
giving, for this reason our project is based on giving, giving through the construction a school or
schools for the poor,
orphans
and street children of Zambia, in Ndola
to be precise,
for
in this town Fr.Miha spent most of his
missionary life. We all know that a nation
with educational facilities and well informed
children makes a healthy
nation. This is what we are trying to put into action. It’s an ambitious project but together we can make it happen.

We are a non profit association called “FR.MIHA DREVENSEK FOR CHILD EDUCATION” named after our beloved late Fr.Miha Drevensek, of the Franciscan Friars Minor Conventual(OFMConv) a missionary Priest in Zambia from Slovenia, who spent all his life in zambia doing his missionary life to the fullest, helping the poor, the ophans, widows and all those needy people he could help, but one of his main struggles was to educate the children. In his life in zambia he sponsored a great number of children, boys and girls’ school fees. Sending as many children as possible to school as this was one of his main goals in life. For this reason we have founded this Non Profit Association , with the intention of building a school in his memory/in his name, so as to continue the work he had started, he showed us the way, now we must continue where he left of. It will be an honor for us to have this school in his name to remind us always of his great selfless contribution to the Zambian people who had become his family and also to continue giving a chance the many poor children who roam around the streets Zambia without any chance to a better future.
We ask you to help us realise this ambitious project of helping many unfortunate children to have an education which otherwise they won’t have if we don’t start from somewhere to help them. Help us by making a donation, any amount you donate will be highly appreciated, your generosity will definately make a difference in the lives of these unfortunate children. The funds raised will be used to secure land and then the construction of the school.
